read it again & again

“these things are never what we think

my heart has skipped five million different seconds since we last spoke,
and splashes into my tea cup from time to time.
i forgot i never liked tea – or rather, i remembered i needed warmth.
so curious, these grasping moments between nirvana and the view of the earth sprawling.
it’s still encased in translucent wrapping,
still small and twisting around itself like mermaids,
but my heart serves its purpose.

& sometimes
even this bruised sack of blood
in its shuddered choking births dreams

sometimes it even laughs – you would never guess,
but i love it all the more, when it beats like kaleidoscopes.
when it leads me back to these places,
these mornings i swear i could almost be the dawn of my humanity.”

gonna read it a few times
just too confusing
